    spill containment ideas (roll over)

Lets see/share some ideas to help prevent/clean up fluid spills on the trail, and our rigs.

    Motor oil
    trans. (manual and auto)
    t-case
    axles
    power steering fluid
    antifreeze
brake fluid, though it shouldn't leak
    fuel
and any others that a box of adult diapers wont help

Higher points for prevention/containment tricks, but ya still get points for clean up tricks.

    Lets see em.............

tip over valves, like this one http://www.spidertrax.com/Tip-Over-Valve

using fuel filters on gear oil vent lines will slow them to a trickle, if not stop it all together. Not so helpful on atf, or obviously fuel.

cheap but effective trick on pirate .............http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2712471

P.I.G. oil mats, wipes, and tubes. We have these at work, they.......well, ......work. Some will "suck" oils out of water and not soak up the water, I dont claim to understand how, but have seen it........pretty cool. http://www.amazon.com/New-Pig-Univer.../dp/B004I665XS

pics are a plus, but any ideas that help keep it clean are great.

For minor messes shovel up the contaminated dirt into a 5 gal bucket and haul it out. If money is no object the marine industry has a lot of oilzorb stuff but it ain't cheap. also check with a safety supply place (sells fire ext, hard hats etc) they usually sell spill stuff. Oilzorb pads, booms work great for pulling oil from water but pulling oil from dirt is a different ball game.
For prevention fix your leaks before you go and keep your rig maintained and painted side UP.

Funny most people dont think of this But to help the wheeling comunity, this is definatly somthing to look into. Quickzorb pads that soak oil only are not free. Maby PIG (and ill look into it) would sport A KOH rig

I got a bag for helping the owner of the company move. Not sure if he's selling it yet or not, though.
