The Dana 60 on my J20 leaks out of the wheel hubs even with new hub seals. Is this axle supposed to have an inner axle seal to stop the differential fluid from getting to the hub? I've looked at a diagram and all it show is a seal on the back of the hub. As it is now the differential fluid travels along the axle shaft and leaks into the hub and contaminates the bearing grease I pack around the wheel bearings. Is this normal? Thanks

It's an 87. I have the factory manuals for it but even in those it doesn't show any kind of seal around the axle shaft to stop the gear lube from traveling down the axle tube and getting into the outer hub. I can't believe it's supposed to do that because it contaminates to grease for the wheel bearings and also leaks out.

no grease
The seal is on the back side of rear full float hub . Gear oil travels down The tube to the bearing in the rear hub.. no grease.1982 cherokee nt. 454. nv4500 .205. dana 60 f+r. twin stick.hydroboost.hydrolic clutch.rock ram.traction bar.warn 12000 winch.4 wheel disc.flip kit.soa.high steer.cross over steer.4.56 detroit locker.35 spline rear alloy axles. 37s .1990 grand wagoneer aka trusty rusty
