front is a direct bolt in if its a 10b or 44(i dont know if its a different one) rear for me was a easy swap, just had to pull the leafsprings together and bounce it while it was loose a few times and it evened out pretty well. Some will say dont do that but to me we are talking less than 1/2" or so total difference between your fsj springs and the chevy spring perch(then again mine was a 3/4t maybe the 1/2t is a little narrower) all in all my 3/4t swap was supper easy.

i just noticed you have a 79, is that a drivers drop front axle? if it is you would have to change t-cases to use the chevy front axle as i think 79 is drivers side drop.

The GM front is a bolt in, but it's SOA. Other, major issues involved with that.
The rear GM axle is a pos. 10b rears bring the s**k.

I'd say it would be eaiser to just get a matching ratio w/t rear for your Jeep.

10b front and rear not the greatest, are you wheeling it much? if not then slap them in so its even and later down the line upgrade to the hd44/14b swap

nothings wrong with SOA, though unless you get lift blocks or a rear shackle flip it gives the front at least 6" lift and nothing in the back. And you have to address a different steering solution, i.e cross over steering or full on high steer. if your going to leave it "stockish" i would say not to mess with those 2 axles and find your self a widetrack rear with the same gears as the front, do you know what your front gear ratio is?

as well what makes you think you have a narrow track rear? rears are usually a little narrower than the fronts
