1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief WT

Project: 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief WT
Found: In a field near Junction, TX
What I learned: $250 doesn't buy you much to start with
Projects all completed in a suburban 2 car garage:
  • Engine - Complete Rebuild (half was missing, rest was broke)
    • KB pistons
    • Edelbrock performer intake and carb
    • HEI Distributor
    • Hooker Headers
    • Custom 3" exhaust
  • Body
    • Doors and tailgate from 1988 Wagoneer w/ electric windows
    • Welded new floor pans
    • Welded in rust repair patches in rear fender flare, A-pillar, etc.
    • 1988 wagoner hood
    • Custom rhino/M715 hybrid grille
    • Fully Stripped body and painted
  • Interior
    • recovered dash
    • new carpet
    • home sewn seat upholstery
    • matching door cards
  • Drive Train
    • Rebuilt front and rear axles
    • ABS fuel tank
    • Stripped and painted 1988 Wagoneer wheels
