need some info getting started on my j10 project

i've always liked the jeep trucks and finally bought a '76 j10 258/4spd. by the time I got it home i found that the old straight 6 had issues. my question is will my bell housing bolt up to any other makes of engine, and if not where can i find a bell housing that will (on top of the engine donor list is my 97 dodge w/a fairly fresh 360). also what kind of tranny and t-case do i have and are they reliable parts? i know i probobly sound like an idiot to you guys but it's not my fault i was born a chevy guy, any help would be appreciated. i also have alot of sourses for random parts for all vehicles if anyone is interested
