1973 J4000 hood on a 79 J20?

Well, the J10 that my friend and I just looked at today has a pretty beat up hood. So would a 73 J4000 hood come close to fitting? Also, it has a brow, and runs pretty nice for not having been driven for a bit.

all hoods swap as far as fitting. Some have hood bars in the front for filler, early hoods don't have that. Hood latches change too. It the J10 has a brow, it's likely to have the same latch setup.

Also, what are the differences between the J20 and J10? I just thought about what I saw on it, as far as badges, and I think that it was a J20 actually. Is the difference in the axles and suspension?

Yes. Bigger axles and stiffer springs.

As far as the hood goes. Any hood will work but you may have to swap the old hood latch on the donor hood. Or swap the latching mechanism on the truck to match the new hood.

Ya, the latch on the current hood is extremely banged up.
