Braved the hot Texas weather to go out and put a new tarp on the portable garage frame since some of the work I have planned will leave the interior and door inner parts exposed to the weather. Quite a reduction in heat under there.

Have a couple of things coming in over the next few days that should extend my working time in this hot weather. Found my stash of fuel line. Picked up oil, spark plugs, Seafoam and STA-BIL. Got a battery on the charger. Having to be patient due to the weather and waiting on parts, but will try to get it started here pretty quick.

It is miserable here it hit 105. I agree, I will not be able to get much done until it starts to cool off. I will just do what I can when I can.

Went out for a little evening tinkering. Changed the fuel filters.

Poured all the lawnmower gas in the tank, Threw the junk battery I just took off the charger on it: and cranked it over. It ran rough, but was expected!!!!

Getting the wagoneer started up for the first time in 3 years.

                  I am stoked!!!!

Yeah I couldn’t stand it. It was running really well before I stopped working on it. It started cooling off at about 7pm so I went out and started messing with it. I swapped out both the fuel filters. The fuel that was in the fuel lines smelled like varnish, so I let it drain out. I got lucky, the tank was pretty much empty. Dumped the lawn mower gas in it. The fuel in the filter looked super clean and had no trash in it so I went for it.

                          Washed the exterior yesterday.

I think I found the culprit that has been killing the battery. I was checking fuses, bumped my arm into it and got a little bit of a surprise. It was hot as fire!!!!

Changed the oil filter and oil. Replaced the headlight dimmer switch which solved my intermittent light problem.

Yeah, a couple coats of flat clear coat and I'd leave as-is forever.

The Texas sun and weather took its toll on the primer. I am very tempted to red scotch brite it and clearcoat it rat rod style, LOL!!!
