Yet another new guy here from so cal

Hello everyone my name is chris .

    I am a caraholic .
I purchased a 1976 Cherokee chief back in July that used to belong to a member here (Wesdog). That I have been tinkering with. I also have a coupla other AMC cars , so I am some what familiar with the oddities of the AMC stuff.
Tried a pic post but it did not like google photos. I am currently in the process of welding on a new roof . https://youtu.be/TFNPojJP9dc https://youtu.be/hfxgEB-eZg4.

Any way just wanted to join the fun..........

    Chris

very impressive work, got me thinking about the 74 waggy roof that is in poor shape...

the rubber strap is to secure the rear bench when it is folded against the front seat. Seems like no rear bench in your chero, the bench has a little divot to receive the strap

74 wag, 349Kmiles on original ticker/trany, except for the rust. Will it make it to the next get together without a rebuilt? Status: needs a new body.
85 Gwag, 229 Kmiles. $250 FSJ test lab since 02, that refuses to give up but still leaks.

Nice job Chris! Makes me want another Cherokee even more now. My '77 had zero rust on the roof but much rust on the rear fender flairs though the buyer didn't even blink at that! Anyway, you now have a very nice example of this great old iron.
