GW: Delilah got her "BLING" on! (New chromed bumpers)

I took the plunge? Simple polished aluminum bumpers just didn?t seem worthy for my girl Delilah. So? I had them fully chromed. I have a friend that knows Leon from WagonMaster so I got his contact for bumper restorations. Although Leon does get other parts chromed by these folks? Leon only has his bumpers polished. Therefore after the first shop prepared them? The bumpers were sent to an Aviation chroming shop in Texas. My OCD knows no limits! Here are some photos from the restoration shop. I should receive them early next week. Will post when installed.

Good idea getting them chromed! They look perfect.

Any update on the XJ? I saw one the other day at a stop light that reminded me.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

Thanks for asking about the XJ. Back from the paint shop with new woodgrain. Looking a bit rough... But coming along! Link below. A big lesson-learned was that it is a known as a Cherokee with a Wagoneer trim-package. The bugger is sourcing the specific Wagoneer trim NOS stuff. I'm still missing a perfect driver's NOS mirror and any passenger's NOS mirror. The last set on eBay sold for $1000.00. The best-est find was a set of NOS seat-covers for $100.00. Work continues!

                    Interesting...

But, Can't you buy Chrome repro's for $75 each now? How did they manage to Chrome over the aluminum? No one will touch aluminum around here.

Please share the source for aftermarket chrome bumpers... I'm sure there would be interest!

My understanding is that after the bumpers were vatted and cleaned... A layer of copper was applied before the chroming.

Thats funny because everything I have read suggest the Wagoneer being its own model, along side the grand wagoneer and cherokee. The brairwood was in fact just a trim package.

But that thing looks really sharp!! I think it would be cool to build a matching 1991 brairwood for my wagoneer. Saw this one on ebay a while back http://www.search-vehicles.com/detai...962510462.html

Its just for 6 grand I could get another nice Full Size...

                            My Sources?

Oh alright. Ebay...I've even seen them with the slots filled. I haven't looked for awhile as my buffed ones turned out really well You do have to look at the ads as they are sometimes confusing with the smaller waggie. If it says 84 and up its probably not a true Grand Wagoneer.
