under Dash Wiring 76 J10 questions...?

Hey I have my instrument cluster out, I had to replace vaccum lines behind for heater... I was just wondering where the 3 T shaped Wiring harness goes with red/White striped wires on it...? It is kind of down by the brake/gas pedal... Also where the wiring harness that has a square shape to it with Black and Yellow wires coming from it... it is right behind where the heater switch is.... Also what light bulb plugs into the Amp gauge side Quadratrac light side? is it the orange wired ones or the yellow and black one...?

The harness is the whole assembly of wires, connectors, loom, ect. By wiring harness do you mean connector? There is a T shaped connector that attaches to the brake light switch. I think the square shaped connector with the black & yellow wires is for the blower control. I think all the bulbs in the cluster are no.194

Have you comapred the wires to the wiring diagram? The 1976 wiring diagram is shown in two places on this site: http://www.oljeep.com/ - under "Wiring" and as part of the 1976 Jeep FSM.

You pretty much just have to trace out the harness to see where they go, compared to the diagram. In some cases you can identify the function of wires by their color code and location in the car and diagram. Under the dash, maybe not - there are a lot of circuits packed into a small area, and color/location likely won't be enough. You'll just have to check the color info, look at the diagram, and trace back the wires until it becomes clear what they are and where they go.

I could probably get some pics of the areas of question... If that would help some people... What lightbulb socket do I plug into the back of the cluster on the Emergency drive.
