Coos Bay is a long drive for me. I'd like to get mine out for some trail driving, but don't know any jeepers close by.

Maybe some drive from the Oregon dunes and the sea up to crater lake or something taking Jeep trails. Maybe 125 miles or less as the crow flies.

Could be a good way to cool off from the heat. Check out some volcanos...eat more fresh crab and oysters, waterfalls, etc....

Maybe I'll scout some this summer...

        Road trip

been thinking about a road trip for next year and a buddy turned me on the this Oregon Back Country Discovery Routes look like a good trip Route 6 starts south of Crescent Lake, off Hwy 58, taking the traveler from the high alpine lakes and meadows to Hwy 101 at Hauser, just north of North Bend/Coos Bay. http://www.oohva.org/index.html

Yeah I was just reading that site last night but they wanted $15 for a map of each route.

I live in Hauser right on 101. Across the street form the Oregon dunes literally out my back porch.

Just looking for some other FSJers to buddy with and do some trekkings this summer or have a yearly event like they do in other places.

Some great stuff around here from the sea, mountains, rainforests, to the desert all within a day.

I would love to drive the 101 in my Wag. I lived in North Bend, 91-94. Enjoyed it! But getting there from Eastern Oregon would eat up my allowance just on the gas to get as far as Pendleton. It would be cheaper to BUY a uhaul trailer.
