Losing a parent is tough. My Dad passed away 12 years ago and it still gets me depressed if I dwell on it. He was the cause for my addiction and my 77 will be his tribute from me.
It will get better as time goes by. Remembering all the good times helps me get along, but to be honest I almost always shed a tear or two when I pass by the cemetery where he is. I drive around the other way alot but it is hard not to see a house in this area that he either built or remodeled in his 40 years as a carpenter. He is actually buried, in the valley, facing the subdivision, up on the hill, he built during the 60's and 70's. He picked it out that way. I can see that same subdivision from my house across the valley.

Sorry for your loss and I echo the statements of the other members, it is just never the same. We never seem to realize what we have lost until it is gone. I lost my mother the say after Thanksgiving 2010 to cancer and it has been surreal following that time. I think I still miss my grand parents more as they were a large part of my life growing up but losing family is very hard. Someone earlier said that is difficult because we cant ask those life questions anymore, so true. You and your family are in my thoughts.

            There is no one else...

who is still happy for your successes and sad for your defeats in this world. She put you here and wants it to be good. It'll be tough for Mother's Day this year....sorry to hear of your loss.

Thank you all. EDIT: it's been a week and I still can't get over it. Only 2 times in the last several years have I prayed so much. The other time was when the wife was in the heart hospital having heart surgery to correct the heart beat from her congestive heart failure. But I am happy that she is again with my father and older brother and maybe she'll run across my MIL and SIL we lost recently. And true, the circle of life continues as my niece gave birth tue. But again, thank you all. You are all my family.
