Anyone put in an aftermarket wood rim steering wheel in thier Jeep and re-used the stock plastic backing ring and horn button?

I'd like to keep the stock size or just a hair larger.

LOL -- mine came with a wood steering wheel. If you want to count it as a steering wheel - it was a 2x4 bolted onto the column lol

I used a Grant wood wheel that was left over from my Catalina project and simply took the AMC Jeep logo and put it on the horn button. After a few sessions with some teak oil, the wheel matched the interior plood grain almost perfectly.~Craig

That is the exact wheel I was looking at on ebay.
I'd like to be able to re-use the stock plastic spacer and the horn button though.
I know I would have to drill three holes for the spacer, but the horn button should pop on, after the metal cup is mounted.
I need to get my hands on a nice wheel and give it a go.Thomas Russell
