Thanks but yes, the paint is hiding a lot of body work that was done in the 1980's. it still presents itself pretty well though. The key thing for me is that it is all there and unmolested.

Well it has been a while since I last posted up on this thread so I figured I would give a status report on the engine builds for the year.

Dude, I retired in 2018 from Monroe.
Now I am trying to at least semi-retire from engine building.

I think you retiring from engine building would be a great loss to the world.

LOL! I highly doubt it. Regardless, the list is never ending so I will probably do it as long as I can as long as I can still play with some of my own toys along the way. Right now I have hired my 34 year old Nephew to help me out with... everything. I still have a unfinished 44x48 building that I need to finish.

Making progress on the addition however, it is a disaster area in the mean time. This picture was taken in January. I had to cram everything together because I was still finishing the old part. Anyway... we now have the old part finished, the addition all wired, walls insulated and have the far wall in drywall. I am still trying to work on the Breedlove car and build engines but I have vowed to myself that I won't work on any of my vehicles until the shop is done. Oh and don't even get me started on the cost of materials now.

I love the look of 3 deuces
I was watching some guy on youtube casting custom intakes the other day and wondering if I could cast a 3 deuce for an AMC

I actually have a vintage Offenhouser 3 deuce that my dad had on a 55 Chevy back in the early 60's. He had installed a new engine with the intake then got in such a hurry to take it on a date with my mom that he forgot to put water in it, overheated it and ruined the engine. He had the engine apart when the car got towed. In the early 80's my brother sold the intake to someone but a few years later that family was having an auction and lo and behold there was my dad's intake, which I bought back for $15.

If I had anything with an SBC it would certainly have 3 deuces

Light at the end of the tunnel... I want to get my 1971 Hornet SC360 done by next summer. They only made 784 of these total. The hope is to run it in the Pure Stock Drags for fun.

I am actually in the process of buying a second Hornet SC360. This is one of 19 made with a 360 2bbl and 3 speed stick shift on the floor. It is an ugly duckling right now but I have big plans for it. This one will have a color change and sport my 397 stroker in front of a 5 speed stick. Fun Fun!

Pulled the "mid-engine" out of the front seat. I see how the dent in the side got there now.

I actually have the engine half put together. Another experiment of course. A bored and stroked 360 out to 397 cubes including slightly used NASCAR connecting rods.
