ever since I saw the black restored honcho that has been for sale all over the web for a long time, I wanted a spare tire carrier like they devised,....

I knew whether I ran chrome or white OEM wagon rims
that I wanted the spare to be white,....

this is the beginning of getting the spare rim ready,....

a really ruff rim from Kenny at WATSON AND SONS JEEP SALVAGE
in pinetown NC,....a great place to find FSJ and all Jeep parts,....

media blasted and primed with RUSTOLEUM self etching primer

I really love their products,....

I used their garage floor epoxy at home and at the shop on a 40x40 floor

great stuff, now they have a product that is even better "rock solid"

painted with,...you guessed it,...RUSTOLEUMS HIGH PERFORMANCE ENAMEL
gloss white
in the tall can

it is really better than normal paint,....I have tested it.

I cheated and did it with high performance super cast red vinyl

cut the entire ring and laid it on wet,.....

this photo does more for me than any X-Rated photo ever could,....!!!

at 50, I am much more excited about a nice FSJ,.....or a glass of milk and handful

of Oreos,.... than I am in having relations,......

I have now completed a set of 5 white OEM wagon rims

and a set of 5 factory chrome OEM wagon rims

not sure which type I will run,.....

this is how the chrome ones looked
( got them from a great IFSJA member from Canada,...LEVELHEAD, I believe)

the factory clear did its job, I stripped the clear and polished,....wow

nothing like factory chrome.....thanx for a deal levelhead....

after the clear is gone,....you get bling !!!

after,...

....I had used Eastwood "tank tone" in the past,

but,...decided to use a gloss grey

the metallic silver tends to fail sometimes,...

I have done several vehicles over time,...

this is the first time that I got to have a rolling chassis,

onto which we placed all other mechanical parts,....

like a new 360,....

but fate had a different plan for the powerplant,... ( fate and some knuckle heads involved with motor build/install )

A friend who just retired from the national guard
copied the tired rear bumper

made from 1/4 and 1/2 inch steel

HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY.......feels like it weighs 300 lbs,...not sure.

primed with self etch, then filler primer

then trusty hi-performance rustoleum top coat

it will get anti skid adhesive strips, cut to shape,...
