Windshield and Back of Cab Trim Questions...

I've had my rig for about a year and a half now and have done plenty to it (mostly mechanical), but finally cleaned out from behind the seat. There was an old sheet with a bunch of trim parts in it from the PO. I knew the windshield trim immediately. It took me a while to figure out the back of cab trim, until I looked at my brother's '74 J10. Does this even belong to my '65 and if so how does it attach? I noticed the windshield trim just hooks on to the seal and then has four screws, is that right? Any info, suggestions or help appreciated.

I have 3/4 of a second windshield trim setup if anybody is looking for some parts (missing the vertical piece on the driver's side). Looks to be in pretty decent shape. No dents or bends.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Windshield trim is a big PITA to install, IMO. Have an old (seasoned) glass installer do it for you. Well worth the money.

Dunno if it was stock or not. The installer can tell you if you have the correct gasket for the trim or not.

Yeah, i figured it looked a little too easy to be true. Guess I'll see if any of my local glass guys can take a swing at it. I don't mind the look of the black windshield gasket. Just figured if I had the trim I might as well put it on.

Would a body shop know any better or do you think the glass guy is the best option?

Well the windshield trim is off a later J-Truck (you can tell it's for a pickup by the notches in the corner of the upper end caps). The early ones had different piller trim peices that actually wrap around the piller and mount with two screws.

So I'm guessing it wouldn't work for mine then? The PO must have had a doner rig because the engine and trans are '72 and there is some other evidence of that from the holes in the hood where the cross trim piece would have gone (and I found that piece behind my seat as well). Is it that obvious it's from a later rig or would you need some close up pics?

It will fit your rig fine, as long as you have a windshield gasket made to take the stainless trim. I don't think the gasket ever changed, just the trim.

I'm running the early trim on my 71 (pulled from my 63 Wagoneer). I just like it better.
