Jon's J-10 build

I'm doing the full build on my 73ish J10. The truck will be used for 1/2 and 1/2 wheelin, dd work. It will still look like a J-truck but without most of the J-truck guts. Just got the rear suspension built and installed. I don't have 220V where I'm working on it, and loading up the big Lincoln Ranger get real old. So for the shackle hangers, I stole some ideas from Chevrolet. If the design is good enough for an 8000lb suburban, it should be fine for my J10. Comments, questions, criticism? Note: After this project, I will be in the market for a resto project to undo the bad Karma I will be getting for un-Jeeping this one.

BTW, the bolt that looks like it's missing is missing. I broke my drill bit

Project background: I had been wanting to build up my 73 J10 for awhile. I really really don't like carbs so I wanted to do a fuel injection swap, then the dizzy gear on the cam ate itself and that was the last straw for the 360. I wanted to put in a Vortec MPI 350 and was looking for one. My girlfriend wrecked her S-10 with the 4.3 MPI Vortec. She was all upset that she killed her truck and she wanted me to fix it so it wouldn't just die (riiiiiight, frame tacoed) So I bought it back from insurance and I'm working on the 4.3 swap. I understand that this is sac-religious to put a V6 in place of a V8, but hey, atleast I stayed American.

Plans:
-4.3 Vortec, 4L60E, Divorced D-20
-60's locked front and rear
-37's
-Flat bed
-Still looks like a J10 to the untrained eye

Stuff that's already been done (will post pics when I find them):

-New floor pans welded in
-bye bye AMC 360
-Hello 4.3

I will keep everybody posted. Rear axle should go in tomorrow and hopefully get the front axle pulled to make room for the Dodge KP D 60.
