1967 M715 "Project Jungle Rot"

Well my dream is being realized. After having the J10 with a Cummins 4B, I ran across several M715s scattered across the southest I couldnt pass up. This is the first vehicle I have ever lusted over haha.

Its time to build my dream truck.

1967 M715
95 Cummins 6BT. Oringed head, 60# valve springs, 4K governor springs, 5 x 0.18 injectors, compound turbos (hx35/HT3B), KDP, new seals, advanced timing

NV4500. Southbend 550 HP clutch, HD hydraulics

203/205 doubler (ford)

1979 Ford Dana 60 front axle. OX Locker. 4.56. 35 spline outers. Drive flanges. 9/16 wheel studs to match GM rear. 1410 yoke

14 Bolt from M1008 (4.56, detroit). Disc brake conversion. 1410 yoke. Pinion guard.

Whole mess of other things and trinkets

Here is the truck pulled into my friends shop for dismanteling. Took 4 hours to pull the front sheet metal, winch, engine, and trans.

More tear down. Had to pull the transfer case, interior and bed.

Redoing the rear suspension. The rear shackle hangers are modified GM units. The frame was plated and bolted to hold the springs. Overbuilt may be a common thread in this build.

Seats are GSS "cobra" seats. From an MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) military vehicle. They are comfy and have an intergrated 5 point harness already!

Dana 60 rebuild/regear
Went with Yukon for the Gears and master install.

Housing spreader wasnt necessary but VERY handy!

After about 9 times of adjusting shims, it was time to paint some teeth and check the meshing pattern of the teeth.

And here is the final backlash! Everthing was well within spec. I must say regearing a differential is not hard, just time consuming and very detailed! Dont be afraid if you have the tools!

Plates for the frame to hang the shackles from

Metal sleeves were cut to give the bolts locations and to strengthen the overall piece....weld + bolts

Here is the 1410 yoke next to a can and 1350 or 1330 yoke. These things are massive!

Here is the HT3B turbo (atmospheric turbo) for the compounds.....its pretty big. Those are my car keys next to it and a coffee cup for reference.

Currently the truck has the Cummins sitting in the bay with supports. The motor mounts are being finished.

325/85/16 Michelin XMLs (have)
16x10 wheels (undecided....leaning towards black rock)
Hi steer/crossover with Heims (have)
Winch (undecided on type and manufacturer )
On Borad Air (leaning torwards the Warn VTC or Oasis)

Looks like you're singlehandedly going to jumpstart the economy! I guess you'll be recieving lots of Christmas cards this year.

Looks great so far but why did you inboard the rear springs to inside the frame and not under it?
