The Lord isolators are not designed for a side load. Let us know how it works

Which is what I keep hearing. But no one can explain WHY. Do a force diagram and see how they are are loaded, direct pressure along the axis of the mount. Someone tells me WHY it won't work, I'll redo it.

Zach,
You are right - In theory. The problem is that those things compress quite a bit under load, so unless you have factored that compression in your engine mount geometry, the mounts are going to flex in non-axial ways. The angling also causes higher loading of the mounts, affecting the damping rates. I'm not saying they are going to fail, just that you are sailing uncharted waters. Good luck with your awesome build

Thank you. While I could not predict how much it would compress under load, I did slot the holes in the engine mounts to allow the stud to settle where it wanted and I haven't bolted it down yet, so as not to trap it before it is settled.

Big thanks on this project goes out to Dusty (a member here) who put up with a bunch of dumb questions from me (where does the fuel line go?) Dusty REALLY knows his stuff when it comes to diesels and 4bts. I was sending him pictures so I could ask him questions and he would ask about the Jeep parts of the build and I was asking him about the Diesel parts of the build. Good thing we are on opposite sides of the country, we'd be dangerous together

I like that bracket. It gives you two batteries, plus you can use shorter cables for less draw.

Looking forward to taking first drive. Zack has been a pleasure to do business with over the last 14 months. A professional at every step. He kidded me about deserving such rare parts, NOS cab ect., my affliction started in 1978 when I got a 73 J-4000, (Abner) still use as plow truck, survived near 30 years hardcore 4-wheelin, I fixxed up a 69 2 years ago (Bufurd), (350 Buick) to cut Abner some slack, restoring a 70 right now, for kicks I guess. So Humpty is going to a good home.

Real tranny's have 80/90 in em

The bed is primed, all the dynamat and dynaliner is done in the cab (except around the pedals and on the tranny cover). Roof, floor, firewall, rear wall, all done. Kinda eerie how quiet it is in the cab, even with the air compressor and such running.
Also go the inner fender mounted along with the battery tray, so its in its final position. You can see where we had to cut into the pass side inner fender:

Trying like he[[ to get it done in time for PA Jeeps. May have to go put together in primer

I had a chance to come out to the shop and take a look at this rig. Its spotless and I still have no idea where Zack finds the cherry NOS sheet metal.

The 4bta that is going in Project Humpty needs an intercooler. I pested Dusty and some others about how to do it and got some pics. Depending on what grill you use, you can hide a lot of intercooler behind the bigger FSJ grills. I put a couple of restraints on this design. While this project is going to get a razor grill, I wanted to be able to fit the intercooler in without cutting too much sheetmetal and maybe still hide it behind a Rhino grill if I do another one of these. I also wanted to keep the size of the intercooler (lxwxh) as close as I could to the intercooler that came with the 4bta in the box truck. So with all that in mind, I give you...

I got some 90 degree hose ends and that is how it will be coming through the radiator support like so:

I'm trying to take good notes with part numbers and vendors where I get everything so if someone asks me in 2 years, 'hey, where'd you get the intercooler and what size is it?' I might be able to find the answer...

Its not a perfect fit, but I think its the closest available. I was trying to stay with the $200 premade sport compact bar and plate intercooler rather than an $800 custom made one that would look and perform just like it.
