I bought wjat I thought was a np229 transfer case from a guy in RI. Had it shipped to New Orleans. When it got here, it was a NP228. NOT the same. He tried to tell me it was the samei didnt get satisfaction there either. So will u keep it?

So it was advertised and sold to you as a 2006 5.3?

Aside from the fact you received something other than how it was advertised, remember that the 327 Dauntless was rated on SAE Gross figures, not SAE Net. The 327 is not really anymore powerful than the 4.8.

While it certainly helps to be able to verify on the front end this day in age, the law(s) make it VERY clear if something is advertised as XYZ and is not......the seller is at fault and liable.

If you have a few months..... small claims court would take care of that no questions given your scenario.

If the seller did not know how to identify what he was selling (being nice here) he had NO business listing it as that specific of a motor/displacement/year further helping a court ordered refund

well it is going to work out after all . I just picked up a 5.3 for 200 dollars. it is a long block. I will swap over crank and rods to make the 4.8 a 5.3. Or if the 5.3 cylinders look good I will swap over everything onto that motor. And I,ll have a 4.8 for the chey 210. Sigh of relief was probably inaudible.But I will document my progress on the swap and post. Not like there is not enough of that already. But I will have lots of questions seeing as this is my first 4x4.
