    dana 44 closed knuckle

Just picked up Cherokee on a 66 gladiator frame with original running gear and my question is what year can I find a passenger side drop 44 with disk brakes? Thanks

Problem with the '66 truck frame is the post mount front suspension being much wider than the 74-79 versions that were on hangers under the front of the frame.

Look for posts by Josh D about swapping in a front Dodge axle.

I have closed knuckle 44s and they are fine, just don't turn as fast. 4-wheel drums with no booster gets tiring when sitting on a hill for a while, but lock up when I need them, too.
