Do Dual Steering stabilizers do anything special?

Besides looking Manly of course...

The reason I ask is my 88 wrangler needs a new one, I suffer bad from the tires ( 31 X11.5 LT's) following the ruts in the road - very scary...

I have completely rebuilt the front end recently and will someday get the caster adjusted correctly by the 4WD shop here.

Would dual shocks help me reduce the effect?

I put duals on my J-10 probably 10-12 years ago. I plan to go back to the standard factory single unit as I have found absolutely zero benefit to the duals, other than being more hardware and crap to deal with. I think you'll be happier with a high quality single unit in the long run.

I've ran plenty of 4x4's, lifted and stock, without a stabilizer in the past. While they do help, they are not necessary. Proper caster has a lot to do with how a vehicle tracks along with camber and toe. I'd have your alignment adjusted properly before adding a dual stabilizer.

Wandering is due to worn steering and suspension components or not enough positive caster.

What often happens on those Wranglers is the spring eye and shackle bushings wear out and allow the axle to shift sideways.

Steering dampers are more to prevent the steering wheel from whipping in your hands when a tire strikes a rock and to absorb vibrations that can be transmitted up into the steering gearbox and into the steering wheel. It just makes the steering smoother in feel, doesn't do anything for tracking.

I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.
