401->4l80e controller question

I want to mate my 401 (‘77 chief) to a 4l80e and an NP241c but I need a controller for the electronic transmission. Does anyone have any recommendations for a controller?

It’s almost like I need the GM ECM (just part of it) and wiring but hoping there is something simpler.

I thought there is a stand alone controller available for that. I don't know how bad you want this set up but it was not cheap.

a 4l80e can be converted to full manual.
there are a handful of gm controllers used in mid 90's diesel vehicles but not great solution for gas engine. wiring required, cannot alter programming easily, and would need to add some inputs from engine to controller.
a 94-95 gm pcm could likely be used as a standalone with reprogramming.
Aftermarket controllers are available but they aren't cheap.
