Junk yard story...

Time ago I went to a junk yard for looking some parts...

I knew that they had a 87 Wagoneer, from the online resources... So all happy I went to the junk yard... I couldn't the Jeep between all those cars... So I came back inside the building and ask...

Me: Do you have any Grand Wagoneer?

JunkYardPerson: who made it?

Me: Jeep.

JYP: Let me check...

Me: Ok, thanks...

JYP: No, we don't have any...

Me:

JYP: But we have Cherokee (XJ)...

Me: Ok, I'll go and look...

Went out step on a car fender, and look around and...

There it is... The 87 Wagoneer!!!

I wonder why didn't show up on their computer...

Have a nice Sunday!!!

why didn't it show? Well, chances are, they're just stupid. Do you know how many idiots have walked up to my truck, (from the back no less, with that Jeep tailgate there) and said, "nice old Ford, what year is it?" They don't know an FSJ from a Cherokee from a Bronco II.

I have a Nissan Pulsar too. Most idiots think it's just a two door Sentra. Almost nothing from a Sentra will fit, except maybe an engine swap. The suspensions are completely different.

I would say most salvage yards only know what sells. Anything that's not in the main stream, they don't know or care what it is. Here in Orlando, if it's not a Honda or a Toyota or one of the big three, you're most likely outta luck.

I don't know how many times I've gone to a junk yard to find almost all of their FSJ's listed as willy's or something stupid(at least they are sort of right I guess) They usally seems to heap them all into the Chrysler section and just list them weird.

It is not that the case...

On their web site they had listed this Grand Wagoneer, (Make: Jeep, Model: Grand Wagoneer, Raw and date in the yard).

But when I went to the junk yard, they said that they didn't had any Grand Wagoneer...

So if it show up on their web page, why it didn't showed up on their computer a the junk place???

Probably the idiot behind the counter had no idea what he was doing, kinda like all the yahoos working at autozone and checker these days, if they can't find something with a couple clicks of a mouse they are lost and don't know how to help you.
