Ryan was pulling it up to the top so we could dump it off the cliff to see what would happen to the environment.

Great Googly... when I looked at the knuckle joints on that red one down at Animas Forks after that climb to the top of Engineer, I knew Sean had an angel riding with him.Flint

I am really getting excited for my first vacation in years. Let alone I (WE) will be driving out in my waggy, but after looking at all the pics what is the MOST important thing (mechanical stuff) to make sure my rig will make it on all of the trails?
I will have a new 4" lift kit, also installing the MM part time kit and chain, but anything else really important?
The duck has a brand spankin new 360 sooooooooooooooo.(Ristow)fram!....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

good low range, clean transmission fluid, a cooler on that too..fresh brakes (brakes take a BEATING up there, and you need them)..a tip top cooling system (overheating is very common)...a cb is helpful..well tuned carb and smaller jets are nice to have with you...spare ujoints...thats all the basics. Theres plenty of parts rigs within 3 hours and well stocked auto parts stores close by in Durango (though people like to drive to montrose for some reason that evades me besides its a bit closer). Good tires too..any AT ones will get you here ok and do alright on the trail. We prefer Mud Terrains out here but they suck for long highway runs, so AT's are fine. Show up with street tires and you can pretty much bet on them getting ripped up by shale on some trails.
looking forward to seeing new faces this year!1979 Chero S "Sundog" 1979 Chero S "Hammer"

Good to see you are planning for the Invasion!
I like that blue! We made a FSJ gathering at Medano Pass several years ago and there was a beautiful spinnaker blue GW there.
FSJers have the aspen area wrapped up now.
