I found a 401, that is in good shape, so the machine shop owes me a rebuild, I figure maybe between my 360 and this 401, we can come out in decent shape. Even thought the cam is wiped out, the valves, springs, rockers, retainers, and timing cover are all new on the 360. Will any of this swap over to the 401? Im hoping maybe they can just bore, check crank, tank, bearings, pistons, and swap some parts, and can come up with a rebuilt 401, and don't have to do much more. I think my 360 has reached it's limits as far as bore and crank grind. So they have to make something for me. I know the owner is super nice, and really wants to make this right. So maybe a 401 is in my future. Thanks, Dennis

Everything off the 360 is a direct swap except for: Crank, Pistons, Rods, Flywheel/FlexPlate, Harmonic balancer. Everything else is the same

Short Block is all different, all the rest to built up the long block is the same.
(Your heads, front cover, valve covers, oil pan, intake .. will all work on the 401)

Well rather than buying me a new crank, cam, and my block is close to reaching it's limits, It would be cheaper for them to just rebuild the short block 401, and swap the new top half off my 360. Assuming everything is OK. For whatever reason, this 360 is cursed! Thanks, Dennis
