THIS BUILD STARTED 2.5 TO 3 YEARS AGO
I REFURBISHED A 1988 WAGONEER FIRST ABOUT 4/5 YEARS AGO
...AND THAT SET ME ON FIRE FOR A J10
I AM STARTING THIS BUILD THREAD LATE,...(was too lazy too investigate how to post )
I WILL TRY TO POST PROGRESSION IN ORDER
UNTIL I CAN CATCH UP TO CURRENT PROGRESS
I appreciate the folks who make this site possible
and I appreciate the kind people on here,....
the thing that makes this world a better place....dave in NC
I call this a Frankenstein build because it is such a mixture of parts
that keeps in tradition with these FSJ's since they had a mixture of parts from several car makers...
first time trying to link a photo,......
the first photo is of what I stated with,.....
a truck from Oregon, no rot, just specks of rust all over
surface rust,....interiror had been gutted when I got it,
even tho no body rot, since it was in a wet climate, even the dash frame had
too much rust to use,.....so I got another dash frame,....
also, the wet climate saved the rubber on the vent windows,....
I cleaned them and replaced felt in the channel,.....a friend who saw them on the truck recently.....said, "if I did not know you, I would never believe they are the original seals",...they are like new, supple, etc....
all in all the truck looked like it had been used on a farm for 40+ years and lived a hard life, but that is what is was made for....now in retirement,...it gets the royal treatment and then to the rest home,...my garage.
