Well, over a year of DD duty and I finally broke her.
To be honest, almost two years. I think I had to change the oil pan for a stripped drain plug, but not much else.
But yep, broke the adjusting stud on the power steering pump. Stupid pump side lined me. Any idea on where to get that lil metric bugger?
It's my own fault for thinking about doing some lighting upgrades because she was behaving herself.

It's the metric 10x1.5mm stud on the back side of the pump.

A lot of the replacement pumps seem to come with the studs already installed.

Is there anything particularly special about the stud? Metric hardware isn't that hard to find if you can find a good source, although it still amazes me how many blank stares you get asking for it in local parts houses and hardware stores. It's 2015, for crying out loud.
If you have enough of the broken stud left to post a photo, maybe I can help find a source.

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

Let's see if this works. These are 3/8 studs in the upper left corner for an earlier Saginaw pump. If they were metric, I would be gold......

Gotcha. I am amazed that it's so easy to get Imperial studs and so hard to get metric ones. They apparently went metric in 1980...
You might rifle through the Dorman and Auveco web catalogs and see if they show anything. Otherwise it may be time for a trip to the nearest self-serve wrecking yard.

Just about any '80-ish up GM vehicle @ boneyard...
I have a bunch in garage, but I'm on vacation, so can't drop one in mail

O.K. -- haven't fully thought this through (still on first cup of coffee)..
Could you swap to a pre-'80 SAE pump, and get a hybrid (SAE/metric) high pressure line knocked up?

Not an entirely bad thought. I've been thinking about that. You can swap the pressure fitting from the old pump and keep the same line.
I still have a boenyard in Santa 're springs to check out, too.

What is the advantage of swapping to an SAE pump rather than retaining the current style? If it's been used since 1980, I'd think it would be easy enough to find. But then, I thought that about the studs...
I'm still entirely baffled by our national contempt for and phobia of metric hardware.

The only"advantage" would be somewhat readily available hardware in the aftermarket for the GM restoration crowd. I'm not sure if the stud portion is long enough, though. On the GW the stud goes through an aluminum bracket. The GM brackets are flat steel from what I remember. I could be wrong on that, though.

Well, poo.
Factory part numbers are J8132474 and J8132475. Both of those appear discontinued and NLA from Jeep. These pages have a list of Jeep vehicles you might find them on if you have to go to a wrecking yard:
http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/.../J8132474.html
http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/.../J8132475.html
Scroll down the page to the line marked "PRODUCT FITMENT/APPLICATIONS" and click the button marked "Show" to the right of that line.

Update....
Well, did the boneyard crawl and scored a pump with hardware off of a Cherokee in the Ecology Auto Wrecking in Santa Fe Springs. If your interested, it is still mostly complete and reasonably straight. I couldn't nail a year on it, but it did have a metric power steering pump.
Now to put mine back together.
