-52 with windchill, otherwise a balmy -16 right now. I had to give my brother's son a ride home from the store today because his Chevy truck wouldn't start. And he (my brother the professional mechanic) laughed when I bought my GW last fall. Who's laughing now smart guy?!?!

I'd love to be back home in Illinois right now. Nothing like a good old Midwest winter. It's a "chilly" 70 degrees right now out here in the middle of the Arabian Gulf

Good bit south of the OP, but yea, nice and cold. Deep snow for here, and blowing so bad they wont bring out the snowplows, let alone tow trucks.
So anybody down here that gets into a bad spot is left to their own getting out.

Funny though, I thought my 2wd 2500HD sucked in this stuff, but I was getting around to pick up friends that where stuck??? In 4wd vehicles????
Couldn't pull anyone out (didn't try since I know it wont do it), but I can go anywhere I want within reason.

Man do I wish the heap was up and going though...................

I should be one of those idiots out doing this right now .
Then I would probably need a ride home.

With a twin sticked 205 I am itching to see what it will do in this stuff in front wheel drive.
Front wheel drive cars do good, just sucky ground clearance.

It was minus 10 here the other day and supposed to make a return. The GW started right up w/o any block heater. Waste of money on a gasser if you dont live in AK or Canada. It does shorten warmup though. Anyway the Gw started right up and leaked out of every pore. Going to perform full tuneup in spring and replace everything rubber and all clamps. Keep warm.

-8 with windchill of -20.

My Jeep sat outside for three weeks and started up after two pumps on the gas and 5 seconds of cranking. I've never seen an old engine that takes to both cold and hot weather as well as an AMC360.

I remember those feelings all to well. Deployments could really suck! I always knew I didn't have it the best as a Soldier, having spent quite a bit of time with the Air Force, but when I was posted to the U.S Embassy in Ghana and had several ships support Africa Partnership Station, I learned what great food is! Wouldn't want to live on a ship, but to have one down the street that I could dine at-now you are talking!

It was a balmy -19 today when I headed out for work. Windchill put that number close to -50 according to the local news guy.

If there wasn't a bar on every corner, this state would have no redeeming qualities at all!

Whoo! This has been the only time in 24 years that I'm glad I live in SW Ohio! We bottomed out at -13 with windchills around -40 last night. Lucky us! Supposed to warm up to 8 today to mark the end of this. It's been 20 years since we had temps below zero for any appreciable length of time. On the upshot, we're moving to Tampa in two weeks. After the move, I fully intend on replacing the much-loved and missed '89 Grand Wagoneer I had to sell last spring. The most dependable vehicle I have ever owned.
And by the way, my girlfriend's RWD Cadillac CTS is one of the worst cars I have ever had to drive on icy roads.

Coldest persoanl temp I recall was when I lived in Maine. Went ice fishing one weekend and it hit -33. You could pull the ice auger out of the hole and watch it freeze back shut.

Tried to go to work on a saturday once. Truck fired up but didn't want to move. At all. I thought for sure something in the drivetrain was locked up cause I could put it in gear, give it gas, and feel the drive load up, but it wouldn't budge. Solution to the problem was to dig out a hammer and screwdriver, and use it to chip my truck free of the concrete it was froze to. All four tires, froze solid to the ground.

A paltry -11 makes me wonder when we all got so sissified we have to shut down school and close businesses.

Got down to -14 the other day My work never can close and must stay open at all times I work at a hospital and this is a new building so where finding out all the great little weakness of this place been working 18hr shift since Sunday.

Plowing and keeping equipment working in these temps is very difficult inside and outside the building had our 3rd sprinkler line burst today

oh it will start just fine without it ( I have a Ristow Carb ) but yes I plug it in at work its nice to come out to a truck fire it up and the temp gauge moves after just a min or 2 of running also I dont have to hear lifter chatter due to the oil being at 40-50 degrees instead of -15

Here in central PA it was 0 on Tues and 6 on Weds. Left the F350 diesel sit plugged in to the engine heater, hopped in my 89 GW, it fired RIGHT up, and I drove that to work the past two days. The only problem was the driver door would not close, so it kept flying open! Kinda hard to hold your coffee, steer, and hold the door shut!

We cant compete with the temp that some of you guys are dealing with, but it was out of the norm for us and people were freakin' out.

No matter how you slice it, cold is cold! We can endure colder weather because ours is much drier. I have been ib places where 30 degrees with high humidity clilled me to the bones.
