Hey guys,
I recently picked up a 78' Wagoneer in Western North Carolina. It is a pretty big project, but i'm excited to learn more about FSJs and (hopefully) fix this one up.
I only spent a few hundred bucks on the Wagoneer, but the frame is really solid, 85k miles, clean title, & I was able to drive it home 45 minutes without major issue (other than leaving oil pretty bad). It wont idle right now probably due to old gas, so it's sitting in the driveway waiting on a carb rebuild kit, and a new fuel filter and pump. Tank will probably come out to be cleaned as well. I cut out a lot of rust from both rockers, and passenger quarter panel. Passenger quarter panel is so bad I can stick my hand into the interior. I'm currently trying to get in touch with Jakes FSJ Junkyard to check out if they have any parts that could help me - he's only 45 minutes away from me!
Anyway - that's the story so far. I'm looking forward to using this forum to figure out partially restoring this wagoneer. Love these Jeeps and stoked to own one now.
