HEI Distributor Installation

I'm sure this has been addressed, sorry to repeat - I've installed an HEI distributor on my 1973 J-4800 360 cu in - I plan to run a dedicated 12ga wire from distributor to IGN connector on fuse block

QUESTION: the original wires connected to the coil, which ones can be removed from the loom/harness?

Find where the main harness ties into the electronic brainbox on the driver's side fender. There is a switched 12 volt wire entering it. Cut it, connect a new 10ga wire to it and run that to the distributor. I will look at mine today but that and a ground is all you need to run.
