Integrated Heater A/C system

Has anyone tried to combine the Heater core into the inside and route the air flow from the A/C fan into the heater/defrost duct work. Looks like it might be possible with a very small heater core installed into the heater/defrost duct work. It would be on a 1989 system. If I can find a really small heater core, I might give it a shot. Would have to add another flapper of some kind to keep air out of heater side when the A/C is on and install an inline heater valve in heater core water line to control heat temp. Curious if anyone has done it.

Live in Florida so how much heat do we really need huh.

Motorcycle oil cooler, aftermarket trans oil cooler, even smaller would be old school steering fluid cooler.

There are aftermarket under-dash units that include both heating and air conditioning. You'd end up replacing both the heater and air conditoner with a new unit. You could keep the existing condensor coil, compressor mount and possibly the compressor too.

I'm interested in this also. I don't like my knees freezing and windows condensing when it's humid or raining outside.

I considered the oil/trans cooler thing but most have smaller lines. I might have to keep looking until I find the right thing and keep moving forward with my build. Wouldn't be to hard to yank the A/C back out. Seems like an easy fix with the right heater core. I find something, I will post it up.
