J4000/ dana 44 question

I got a 1970 J4000 that was in ruff shape and built a swamp buggy out of it.
It has a closed knuckle dana 44 front and a semi float dana 60 rear

I have a question about the Dana 44
1) I need a part number for the spindle. Should be on outer flange but I can not see them on mine.

2) The J4000 is very hard to find info on. Was this a heavy duty 44 or the same one the put under wagoner, J20 etc?

if anyone knows the answers to any of that I could sure use the help. Thanks

1) The outer parts are the same as a 25 or 27 as found on pretty much any 46-73 CJ. So closed knuckle spindles are closed knuckle spindles. Any of the usual suspects should have them. Like these guys http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/...ts-accessories

2) The closed knuckle 44 wasn't as strong as the open knuckle. But if you change the spindle-to-knuckle bolts to cap studs like the open knuckles had, they are pretty close to as strong. No really easy way to do high steer on closed knuckle.

If you decide not to use either of these axles, I'd be interested in the brakes.
