Jeep warms up, oil pressure pegs?? WTF???

I started and was warming up Louise and I noticed that the oil pressure needle had jumped completely to the right, pegged!

IT had NOT started that way, typically I get about 50 when cold at idle and that was what I had been seeing until she started to warm up.

So, I turned her off, and went out a day later, started her up again. Oil pressure climbs slowly as she starts, hovers around 50, then, about the same time the temp gage hits the 'green' she pegs again! WTF?

Only other 'symptom', she started stumbling recently -like the float was sticking, nothing real bad.

Ideas? I do not think it is a crossed wire, as the gage seems to be actually responding, but to what??

Thanks for the idea, that must be it. I was a little worried as I could not remember all the weird things that could cause that, but as it was sudden, and really nothing else is up, I will check that.

what i love about mine is when you are driving and it drops below zero at idle...engine is great and has great pressure but the guage shows negative pressure...they really are for "entertainment purposes" only!
