wifes waggy (89, with a reman engine i got in a 82 parts wag) with 31's (bfg a/t) and 2.72's gets 14 pretty regularly with a q-jet. nearly 15 when it is hot outside (much less time on the choke)

Quite possible. I got 14.5 to 15.2 with my 87GW - 360, 210K miles, 31's, edel intake, better cam, edel headers, edel 1405 4b carb, upgraded ignition and keeping my foot off the skinny pedal. With all that aside I got 12 average.

I can't get out of the 10-11 range, but mine is a Full time. It runs excellent, and the plugs almost look like it runs too lean. Maybe I should just do the cam, intake and carb swap. Everybody seems to get better mileage, as long as they stay out of the throttle.

i always got 10mpg during city or highway, it was a joke. should be pullin a solid 14mpg with the new setup around town, i'm hoping 16 on the highway (lifted and big tires doesn't help).

Just got home from a 325 mile round trip to my gunsmiths place. I-80/90 most of the way about 20 miles of 2 lane at each end both ways. holding about 70-75 mph on the Toll Rds (had to keep out of the trucker's way). I filled up before I left, when I got there, and when I got back home. just calculated the mileage @ 15.7 .
Its all stock except for the ignition improvements--87GW 360 auto. Its going in for the Edlebrock manifold and 1406 transplant, finish the desmogging and replace/renew all vacuum stuff on Thursday. I may never see that mileage again.
