    Door hinge

After searching on here I found that the Dorman #38381 fits the door hinges for the older jeeps (my 74' cherokee)

I know you have to cut the one longer pin BUT.....

I am curious as to what the 3ed pin & bushings are for?

I looked up what the kit actually is made for (Dodge, Chrysler & Plymouth) and none of those applications use a 3rd pin & bushing.

    Anyone know?

It's a universal kit, meaning depending on your vehicle may or may not use same(all) pieces in the kit.

I know but if you look at the hinges it is made for, they don't use the extra pin either

Occasionally manufacturers will give you one or two extra pieces. Sometimes this is because the machinery that packages them is not 100% accurate so it's better to make the machine give everyone 3 pieces than deal with the customers who only end up with one. Sometimes it's just cause they are cool people. And other times it's an accident. Generally I'd rather have more than I need than not enough,
