Thought I'd ask the group for ideas/guidance before I start taking things apart to troubleshoot this. My 89 GW has as an issue with the left side dash lights working intermittently. I am talking about the lights to the left of the entire instrument cluster, located below the the headlight switch. They illuminate the indicators for the defroster and tailgate window switch, among others.
They will mostly not work but every now and then, if I drive at night, they will work perfectly well for as long as I drive the car. Once the car is off and restarted they will not come back on.
Everything else works flawlessly. Not sure if it's a bulb issue or a ground somewhere else. My headlight switch works fine but it's original and maybe getting old. The dimmer switch also works well. All the interior lights work. All fuses are good.
How many bulbs are actually there on that left side, is it just one bulb? Any ideas?
