Thanks! Plenty more pictures will follow once it arrives to me in the UK.

There's no real plan as such for this Jeep. The XJ and ZJ will remain our daily drives, but they both have a few time consuming bits that need doing, so the Wag will serve as a backup car for us both. That said, it won't be sat around as I'm hoping to still use it at least a couple of times a week even when the XJ and ZJ don't need any work.

Over time I'd slowly like to sort out any small niggles with it to make sure that it's reliable, then I'll focus more on cosmetic stuff after that. You'll probably find me in the prissy section in the not-too-distant future!

Thank you! I currently know for definite of two other GWs in the UK, although yours would appear to be another! Have you got any pictures?

Haha, it took me a while too!
That sounds nice - I looked at ones in Japan and most looked to be in beautiful condition.

I've been thinking about it, and our GWs included (once mine arrives), I can actually think now of 5 late model ones that I know of in the UK.

                She's arrived!

There are plenty of little niggles to keep me busy (I'm sure I'll be asking questions soon), but I couldn't be happier!

Thanks! I'll have a look at the towbar in a bit and let you know.
Today's project is to make a start on keeping water out of the interior... oh how much fun.

Definitely check the cavities behind the kick panel vents. They are infamous for filling up with leaves, pine needles, etc., from the cowl plenum. Once they fill up, the drain holes get blocked, and water backs up into the interior.

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

From watching whilst it was raining, I don't actually think that water was coming from those vents. It seemed to more be coming from the windshield and the doors themselves, so there's some work to be done there. The roof rack also leaks, but I've got grommets on order.

I've made a little progress this weekend:- I removed the overhead console and managed to get the lights working again. No such luck with the compass/display though.
I also pulled the loose material off the console and re-glued it on. I accidentally saturated the fabric with glue, but it still looks much better than it did.

Airstreamer, I've had a look at the towbar and can confirm that it is manufactured by Westfalia. It has a plate on it that mentions 2800kg, so I assume that's the max. It has a standard 7-pin trailer socket. It's a shame it's so bulky - I much prefer the look of the US-spec tow bars.

I'll get some pictures of it when I get home, either tonight or tomorrow for you. A swap sounds interesting
The Jeep was never actually registered in Austria, it was being sold there but was last actually registered in the Netherlands.
