Car show

We took Road Trip to a car show today. It was a "Cruise In" from all around. Over 100 cars of all makes and models, and years for that matter. So I parked RT and we walked over to talk with a friend who had 7 cars he brought out for the show.

As we were talking, several people walked up and too pictures. Made me feel good. Then the "others" came up.

Two guys are looking under the hood. One comments "this thing has a Chevy motor and a Ford fuse block, in a Jeep." The other guy "that is just the way AMC did it." I was chuckling and didn't even try to correct him.

Then the guy and his girl come walking up. Guy "this is one of those old Jeep Waggoneers, blah, blah, bla..." Then his girl asks "why does it have Cherokee Chief on the side?" Him, "look, a Mustang."

It was a good outing, saw lots of cars and trucks, and RT got its fair share of lookers.

yes, i dont doubt that it got looks.

every time i take the wagoneer out

you see folks in 60 to 70 thousand dollar SUV's pointing

and smiling,......then they get home, look at their payment book

and want to cry as their investment is losing 10 grand a year for the first

couple years then 2,500 to 5,000 each year after.

not to mention 10 people in their neighborhood have the same vehicle !!!

I crashed one at the Wendy's. Some people walked over to look at it. Not many though. I get more attention driving it around. Got a few Jeepers in the area that actually wave or honk at me when I go by and I have absolutely no clue who these people are...I just wave back and nod.

funny, couple people I know tried to tell me they put Dodge 360s in them... until I open the hood and point out the obvious differences between the AMC, Dodge, and Ford engines.
