    I

Around 4 months ago I was laying In the bed thinking about past vehicles I’ve owned. Got to thinking about my 80 Cherokee I had sold 10 years ago. Went on the forums to see if the new owner Bill Moore had done anything with it. Couldn’t find any post directly related to it. So on a whim I emailed Bill to see if he still had it. Bill’s son replied about two weeks later and informed me of his passing in May 2019. He told me his dad still had a lot of Jeep’s down on the farm. If I had the VIN number he would look for it. Sure enough he still had it, but had done some work to it. It wasn’t quite the same Jeep I had sold him. After a little back and forth on it, his son agreed to sell it back to me. I just made the trip to Alabama to pick this up yesterday. The Cherokee will need a little loving to get it back in running and driving condition. First things first, I need to get a new ignition since the keys were lost.

The Jeep was originally black with Laredo trim. 360 with a 4 speed. 35’s and 6 inch lift. I sold it with 83,000 original miles (no roll over )and now currently has 93,000 miles with the same tires.

Truck was repainted orange and chief decals applied. New Holley Truck avenger carb. New distributor. Steel bumper and winch with a locker in the rear.

Can’t believe I was able to track down and get the same Jeep from years ago. I can’t wait to go through this Jeep and get it road worthy again.

What a great story! Beautiful Cherokee too! I've often wondered what happened to some of the FSJ's I've sold over the years. All were nice and very original.

So not having seen one of these awesome rigs in person, and it having only a single door on each side, how do the front seats articulate to let backseat passengers in and out?
Do both seats slide forward, tilt forward, a combo?

All 2 door Cherokees have tilt forward passenger seats. Some 2 door Cherokees have tilt forward drivers seats. Regardless of the number of tilt forward seats, it is a PITA to get into the back seat in a 2 door Cherokee.

If you look at madmikeX3's driver seat you can see the little chrome flipper (his is painted black) at the bottom of the seat back to title his driver seat forward.
