FSJ VS FORD Rear dana 60 ???

Is there a difference in a rear J-20 dana 60 and a ford dana 60 exept for the spring perch placement? how does the width compare?.

    Thanks

Don't know the answer to your question, but the Dodge (70's-early 90's) Dana 60 rear is a bolt in for the Jeep.

Chevelle guy is right. The Dodge is a bolt in

Most of the J20 rear Dana60's and Ford Dana60's had 30-spline axleshafts. The 1-ton HD Ford 60's had 35-spline shafts.

Other than the J20 Dana60 being a couple of inches narrower in WMS they are very identical from the mid 70's through the early 80's

J20 D60's will also have a 7 bolt backing plate/flange vs. the 4 bolts on the Ford.

Dodge D60's only bolt into Wagoneers and Cherokees. The perches still need to be moved to fit J-Trucks.

I was unsure on that part, thanks.
