Hey everyone,
Thanks for everyone sharing and making a great community. Is there a reason that this community is not on Tapatalk or some other forum app?
I know the fsj forum is there but have wondered why this one is not.
One thing I like to do on this forum is to click on the

Here is my take on this. It doesn't mean I'm right. It's a mystery to some and not with some others. Basically the forum software is so old it doesn't support it. Chances of future upgrades without a site meltdown is slim to none.

And some of us (not that it matters) don't even have smart phones. Our cell service quit working where I live. We have to use a satellite home phone and it is awkward as heck with the delay. We decided to live here and these are the new issues with that. Not everyone has the latest tech... I'd miss this place if it ever went away. Currently I am researching which string is best between cans.

I like the braided fishing line too but use 80#. I also experience clearer calls when using metal cans, not plastic.

What kind of phone? I use inmarsat the delay is tolerable once both parties get used to it - its like 1/2 second

I have read that the dude that "owns" this forum does not want to give it up. He also does not really maintain it, per se (other than renewing the domain). My understanding is he also does not really check on it very often.

So it is kinda stuck in about 2010 technology. There have been efforts to get him to release the domain so someone else can update the software but no luck so far. It's also why MANY of us have punched holes in the wall after taking a long time to write a post, only to lose it after the first comma in the first sentence. gggrrrr.....

I'll have to try that metal can thing. The delay is sometimes two seconds and I sometimes can faintly hear my sentence before a response. Then you end up over talking each other. The recent domain expiration really freaked me out. I thought the site was gone for good. I almost went outside and dug a hole while talking to myself. Glad it is back.
