Please Post Pic of Wheels for 77 Cherokee

I have a really cool 77 Cherokee that's all original except for the Wheels. I would really appreciate any suggestions on orininal Jeep wheels and if anybody is selling wheels.

I don't necessarily care if they are year specific but I want Jeep wheels and caps. I want pictures of White Wagon's, slotted mags, steel wheels with dishes.

Any websites?

I need to decide.

Thanks in advance as always. Ya'll are very helpful.

Chris

Is it a WideTrack or a NarrowTrack Cherokee. It makes a difference in the width of wheel.

If it's a NT, then the 5 spoke would be right, if it's a WT, then you'll have chrome or white wagon wheels on it.

I have seen a number of W/Ts with 5 spokes...Dont know if they were original or not tho.

This is stock 15x8 wheels for 1976 Chief. Pretty sure they were also available with stainless beauty rigs. One of our Jeep history books speaks about a shortage of wheels on a couple of occasions during 70s Jeep production. For the Renegade and some FSJs. Jeeps sales were hot and heavy in the 70s, so it does not surprise me if they had parts shortages. That could be why these wheels look a lot like the K5 and Suburban stock wheels that were steel with center cap and stainless beauty rings. I have never seen them side by side, but they sure look similar in my mind. Other than these, the Chief would have had white spoke 15x8 wheels. The spoke holes on the factory spokers were kind of rolled in a bit for a smoother finish than after market wheels that are just flat stamped. I don't think the factory chrome 15x8 spokers were available as a factory wheel until around 79 or 80. I have a set off an 81 Laredo WT on the "other" 88 GW right now.

I have not personally seen any 5 spoke aluminum rims for the wide track FSJs but some have said they had an optional 15x8 available. All the 5 spoke wheels I have seen are 15x7 and only installed on Wagoneer and Cherokee NT that I know of. I think the best way to find out what was actually available in 77 is to get your hands on a 77 sales brochure. We have a 79 brochure and it shows all the wheel options for that year.

Bryan - That is the factory white spoke style I am talking about. They would also have the center caps like those on Jerry's 76. The triangular holes are not flat cut like after market wheels. The edge of the holes curl in just a wee bit.

rusty 15x8 stock wagon wheels

silver "turbine" 15x7 alloy wheels from a wagoneer, unill I find some decent 8" wides

Neither set of wheels is available, sorry. The wagon wheels had one mismatch on the other side of the truck, and I drive on the turbines daily.

Fulsizjeep - I like what you did with the wheels on your trailer!

That is Jerry's (jsinajeep) trailer. His hubcaps are in very nice condition. Our car trailer is sans hubcaps but our horse trailer has a set like Jerry's except they are a little dinged with Kaiser style on one side and AMC style on the other.

My old 1977 J10 with the factory white wagon wheels. Not a cherokee but you get the point.

Thanks

I love the white Wagon Wheels witht the original Chrome caps.

I am not a fan of the Grande Wagoneer mags though.

next is aluminum slotted mags and the chrom Dish wheel covers. One of the old FSJ Jeep issues had a wagoneer with them on a sweet set of SS mud tires and it looked **** cool.
