I have a 1979 Wagoneer that I'm taking apart. Under the front passenger side shoulder seatbelt there is a 2" x 18" rubber band with a couple moulded cutouts. Ive never seen one before. What is it for? It's mounted to the center post. Thanks all in advance.

Ha! That one tricked me forever, too! I thought it was a cheesy pull handle for short people!!
That's the strap to hold your backseat when you fold it forward. If you collapse your back seat and roll it to the front seat, you will see a little knub on it and those holes will fit nicely over the knub keeping the seat close to the back of your front seats.Chuck McTruck 71 J4000
