    photoshoot questions

Hey guys a photographer asked to use my wagoneer for a christmas backdrop its in decent shape and im not sure what a fair price is; has anyone done this? What is a resonable rate to charge per day/weekend?

$200/ day seems fair. If there are multiple locations maybe a little more. If it is an amateur photographer, or for a wedding $100 seems reasonable. There are plenty of Wagoneers out there, no need to charge a crazy price, it would also be nice to get an original print of the photo, and a copy of whatever the photo is for (calendar, book, magazines?). You can always ask them what they will pay, and then make your decision.

My Pro Photo Person here in ATL suggest ~$150 a day is norm for a straight shoot... about $250 for a weekend. Double that if you are required to leave it on set overnight, double that amount again if its video and you are required to drive it. And if its driven, Be suspect if they don't require you to show proof of insurance or if the contract doesn't show their responsibility for damage and include a stated value for a total loss.

Ok great info! I was thinking keep it realitivly affordable so that maybe future jobs may come around with the photographer once or twice a year .

I have allowed my cars to be used for free in some cases and have been paid $500 when they used my truck in a porno... most of the time it is $150-200 per day

About 2 years ago I was approached by an agent of Kevin Costner after he saw a picture of my '76 in a mechanic's shop. He offered $400 a day for 2 days, and I got to drive it on the beach in front of his house in Santa Barbara. He and his wife were loading dive equipment for a jewelry ad in Germany. I never got to see the pics though.
