Even though this is an FSJ gathering, we get different types of rigs join us each year. A few important things to prep for:
1 - elevation (smaller jets in the carbs or decent fuel injection)
2 - vapor lock (even fuel injection systems can get vapor lock)
      3 - brakes!
4 - LOW RANGE IS REQUIRED or leave it at the KOA
See what I can get done before Christmas.

      Already know 1-4 thanks.
It is EFI, has new breaks, and it has a low range.

This year I had 47B cause Rainman took 47. Then they couldn't make it so I got 47 and 47B. Then decided to give 47B a try and let Casey have 47. I know.

The 3 years before that I had 47.

Tad - So if you want to trade I can get 48 for those days and get 47 for the 18th to the 20th and we can trade those days then? again?

          I liked 47 better.

Quick, what are you doing on July 22, 2010?
            A. Driving in the mountains outside Ouray, CO
            B. Sitting around the KOA outside Ouray, CO
            C. Drinking tequila at the KOA outside Ouray, CO
            D. Driving to Montrose, CO (from Ouray) for a parts run
            E. Sitting at home wishing I was in Ouray, CO

Bonus question which are you doing right now??

My answers are hopefully A and or C, and right now E.

I have not heard back from Dave yet but I emailed him Friday morning asking to change me to 48 and add the 20th for me. We'll work it out, soon as I hear from him I'll let you know.

              EDIT:
              Just heard back from Deborah.
              I'm down for the 20th to 24th in 47.
She said someone already has 48.
If that's Ralph then we are good to go I think.

I am down for arriving on the 18th and leaving on the 24th. I did Six nights this year and it was just perfect. It's such a long drive to only stay 3 or 4 nights.

Ralph will probably show up early again too. It's a great chance to test out the rig in high altitiudes and just go exploring rather than hitting the 'standard' trails.

OK, I emailed Dave at KOA.
David Gibson w/green J10 has it.
                    Mystery solved.

I know and I'm not fond of the lower hanging trees in that area too much and there's a bit more parking space with the others down the lane.

                          Ralph,
If you can, email Dave at the KOA and tell him what's up.
Let them know I will be giving it to you and moving down a bit.
I won't be out of work for a few hours and can't email or call from here.

I finally made it back to Texas at 6 am yesterday morning and am getting back in the swing of things. I haven't called yet, but it looks like no one else has reserved 46A, so I'll take that again in 2010 if that's ok, might as well keep it consistent, maybe I'll have better luck next year! I'll call the reservation in Tuesday and post when I get confirmed.

Also, not sure if I just missed it on another thread, but has the story been relayed yet about Shawn's last (well, of Ouray 2009) breakdown in the IH about 5 miles from the KOA on Sunday after everyone except Ronnie and I had left? It may be the first time ever that FSJ'ers sat 3 wide in a M715 to make a parts run for an International pick up in the rain. Shawn, I never heard from you, so I assume you made it at least a little farther down the road?
