    Got a boob job

That got your attention. The stock clear lens on my 77 were cracked and missing pieces. One also had a snapped off screw in it. So I got to looking online and found this set of Javelin lights with the chrome for cheap. I guess people didn't want to mess with the overspray that was on both? Here's what I started with.

Pretty gross. Started with 800 grit wet sandpaper and moved to 1000. Then finished with some rubbing compound. They look great and both are perfect condition. No cracks or flaws anywhere. Here's the stock front's.

    And after the boob job.

I like how AMC went to the parts bin to equip new models. Why reinvent the wheel?

I just watched a neighbor sand and polish some tail lights on a Nissan Z. Never thought of wet sanding / fine sanding plastic. Works great.

Oh yeah. I tried a few different chemicals but nothing worked. Wet sanding did the trick.

When we polish the plastic headlights to clean them up, I apply a coat of carnuba wax. Seems to keep them looking good for longer.

              That's hot.

Those look SWEET!!! Were Wago stock boobies amber like that when new? (I really don't know and am really asking) Either way, I think they look awesome the way you have them.

Hey Rang, no they were clear in stock form. These were used on Matadors, Gremlins, Javelins, Hornets etc.

No offense to those with stock clears ones but I think I like the amber more.

It funny I had the same idea a while back but could not find anyone selling the amber housings. I have been looking ever since, and now will continue my search after seeing how great they look.

I will look through my receipt book or through my emails and see if I can find where I got mine from. I got a set of amber ones about a year ago. It was from an AMC used and repop parts company. They had the new gaskets for the lenses and they had various styles of used and repopped amber lenses and also the clear lenses if anyone reading this is looking for those. They had a pretty good assortment of them.
