There's an outside chance that we'll trade the wife's car in for a truck that can haul the J4000 on a trailer, but then I'd need to get a trailer. What should I look for in a trailer than can haul a J4000? How long would it need to be? I figure as long as the wheels are on the trailer and the weight distrobution is about 60/40 to the front of the trailer I should be good but am I missing anything?

Lots of car trailers are too narrow and your tires hit on the fender wells even with stock tires....*** I am collecting pics and info on any factory Jeep Dually trucks from the J-Series at the new Jeep Dually Registry.
***I can set you up with hydroboost for your brakes: http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=106056

I just hauled my j10 on a standard car hauler. It was 83" between the fenders and my 35/16 boggers on off set wheels rubed a little bit one both sides. pulled just fine with the 5.9L awd and 3.92 posi. I think 83" is a common width. Or you could build fenders that can either be driven on or lift up out of the way on a hinge.2000 Durango 5.9 R/T AWD "tow rig"

I bought a Big Tex CH70 for my Jeeps.Plenty wide with a stock Honcho on it. IIRC about 6" to spare between the fenders. Nice trailer. As much as I use it I wish I would of bought the bigger trailer now. If I buy another it will be a 10 or 12,000 lb trailer. But I have used my CH70 for cross country hauls, loaded with a J10 once and the other time was a Chero. Lots of 1000 miles and under trips loaded, many times now with no issues at all.Tom Gibson
1980 J20 Utility bed truck. Factory cab and chassis truck. Many new mods for it but it will look all stock.
1985 J10 nothing special just a nice clean stock truck.
1977 Honcho "Blue" 401/400/quad. Under going major upgrades.."This is Not Your Fathers Honcho", it may not even be a Honcho anymore when done.
2017 Challenger. Very jealous of the Jeeps.

If you have the $$$, look at the aluminum trailers. Featherlite makes nice ones. About $5K, however!!! I can't see spending that much on a trailer right how when I can buy a REALLY nice FSJ for that price!Ethan Brady
1987 Grand Wagoneer, slightly longer than stock.
