    speed sensor (VSS)

Anyone know if this style speed sensor would work on our rigs with the speedo cable and for a Ford TBI conversion? Seems to be for 90s Wranglers and Dakotas...

Depends on the signal it generates, and what the FI system is looking for.

Not familiar with a Ford TBI setup, so dunno

Did some more digging and this won't work. GM TBI needs 2K pulses per mile. I think this other one I found is hall effect, not pulses.

Why You Might Want One. Without a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) and the reluctor ring that feeds it signals, many engines including the Chevrolet TPI fuel-injected engines we specialize in will not run correctly and will not pass a smog test. Background on Our VSS Products. Check here for a 2K pulse sensor.

Dakota digital sells some VSS stuff if JTR is out of stock again.

An EFI install shouldn?t affect or make cruise control inop.
I?d check to make sure throttle cable/chain is connected, that vacuum line(s) are connected, fuse good, etc.
Cruise uses it?s own VSS, separate unit than GM TBI VSS.
I don?t believe the Sniper utilizes a VSS signal.

The speed sensor for cruise is installed in the middle of the speedometer cable. Trace it from the firewall back towards the transfer case and you will see it.
