    Herbina

Just Drove in with Dad's last Jeep, a Grand Wagoneer, 1987 model, that my Sister in Huntington WV has been keeping.

It was garaged for it's first 18 years, been sitting for four years.

My Sis kept it up very well, and once she quit driving it, she still started it every month or so. It had run out of gas, so all I had to do was add gas, prime and air up the tires. It is so quiet, tires are old with good tread but out of balance. It drove great the 150 miles home, developing a miss the last ten miles.

Dad's name was Herb, Sis tried to name her Herba, but the WV dept of vehicle enforcement felt that it was drug related... Thus Herbina.

I have no control, it was named by a family member.

The Roof rack seals gave up and the headliner is gone, and the carpet is poor, but there is no rust in the back, we will see what the front floor boards look like this week.

    48K miles

    Looks like a keeper!!!

That is the same color as my first (FSJ). I guess I'm a little biased.

Stick it back in the garage. Otherwise, the sun will kill that beautiful woodgrain.

Look, this is indicative of impending catastrophic failure that will consume all your time and resources, and ruin all your relationships. And you have enough to handle already with your J-10. Soooo...I'll be happy to fly down and relieve you of this unfortunate burden.

Dash and pad are great, seats are very good. carpet and headliner are toast. Steering wheel should clean up nicely.

                  Thanks Serehill,

Luck is luck, but the comment about the coolest Dad. Thanks, he was Mr Outdoors.

We had to have a Jeep for hunting and fishing. He was a coal miner and had to have one for work to get to the job in the winter, but hunting and fishing were first...

                  Thanks!

                    Interesting fact:

The KY dept of Vehicle reregistration Values a 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer at $7800.00

This is what they expect for taxes.

Move to Texas, write a bill of sale and use it to get title changed - that age, $100 and no one would complain.

had the same thing happen to me when i bought my mustang - it was in rough shape - not bluebook

they have a "affidavit of condition" or some other fancy pants wording you can have the seller/owner fill out stating what defects are evident and his/her estimated value

we have other places besides the official DMV where you can do registration things - go there and ask

When I started the Jeep hunt this time last year, THAT was the picture my mind was looking for... The cherokee changed my mind instantly but that blue and tan is the best waggy in my opinion.

So cool, next question you have to ponder is just how prissy is it gonna be?

Reflective fly photo prissy, or a nice tea set installed in the glove box prissy???

Here in MI, they really don't care what the value "IS".........you pay for annual registration fees based on what "WAS" the cost when new......So, $28 K.
With plates running $130 every year........forever.

Now,.can you explain about the name and what the state of WV has to say about it? Like they have any say ???
